Description
Progexan
Progexan™ is a natural alternative to support progesterone levels, combining high potency herbal extracts from researched plants well known to be a source of Diosgenin, a precursor to progesterone.
Our formulation contains extracts of Dioscorea oppositifolia (a yam family plant) and Trigonella foenum-graecum (commonly known as Fenugreek). According to Health Canada, these two plants are a source of Diosgenin, a precursor for the hormone progesterone.
Progesterone is useful for fertility because it prepares the uterus for pregnancy. In menopausal women, low progesterone and high estrogen may lead to the thickening of the uterus wall, a cause of endometriosis. Estrogen stimulates endometriosis and progesterone inhibits it.
Symptoms of low progesterone may include:
- weight gain
- decreased sex drive, mood swings
- PMS, irregular menstrual cycle, heavy bleeding
- breast tenderness, fibrocystic breasts
- fibroids
- gallbladder problems
Symptoms of low progesterone and high estrogen may include:
- bloating
- swelling and tenderness in your breasts
- fibrocystic lumps in your breasts
- thickening of the uterus endometrium
- decreased sex drive
- irregular menstrual periods
- increased symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
- mood swings
- headaches
Progexan™ also contains a high potency extract from Smilax glabra, a plant commonly known as Sarsaparilla, and considered to be a blood purifier by western herbalists and a herb to clear Heat and relieve Toxicity by TCM herbalists. By acting on the liver meridian, Sarsaparilla may also help clear excess liver estrogen.
